Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of the University of Panama where I received a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Design. I also have formal studies in music from the Contemporary School of Music (Panama). After obtaining my degree I decided to pursue my childhood dream of becoming an animator and worked for several years doing 2D and 3D animation for advertising and television.

In 2004 I moved to the East Coast to pursue a career in the great New York City. For the last twenty years I have worked in broadcast design, animation, motion graphics, video production, VFX and art direction for the New York Mets, New York Jets, MLB Network, NHL Network and CBS to name a few, and have received three Emmy Awards, three Promax Awards and more than a dozen Emmy nominations for my work in graphics. My passion for animation goes beyond work. That's why from 2011 to 2013 I produced Animedia, the first animation festival in Panama.

I have been teaching for more than five years and I enjoy immensely at all levels, from inspiring 8 year old kids and teens in public libraries to guiding college students and professionals. During the pandemic I taught virtual animation workshops for Latin America and the UK, reaching more than 2000 students. This initiative caught the attention of Forbes Centroamerica magazine (online) which included my bio in their piece "Most Creative of the Region" in December of 2020. I have been a lecturer at the Wacom Academy and at the University of Panama's Design, Art, Tech and Fashion Seminar.
I am fully fluent in Spanish and English and able to teach in the language that is more comfortable for the student.

I teach the use of applications like After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Maya, Cinema 4D, Blender, Krita and others, as well as fundamental principles of animation. Due to my background in science as well as music I teach school level math, geometry and physics, as well as music with emphasis on the guitar.
