I didn't always want to be in academia, in fact, I didn't always want to go to college. I grew up believing I was not the "smart" kid but the musical/people-person type of kid. Studying and grades didn't come easily to me and that felt discouraging. Throughout my life, I have learned that my learning just needs to be sparked by the right flame, the right explanation, the right demonstration, because when it does it changes how I interface and grasp the material.
I was a tutor at the community college in my area for over two years and assisted in teaching a course on study skills for incoming freshmen. I have co-planned and co-instructed an anatomy and physiology summer course for high schoolers. These experiences along with my own have given me a plethora of tools and wisdom.
Currently, I am pursuing a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy after completing my Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, Psychology, and Exercise Physiology.
