Certified Tutor

My name is Ruting, a dedicated Mandarin tutor. I have been teaching students in different age groups with various objectives for the past three years on 51�Թ���.

I obtained a master's degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Ottawa, and a bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Dalian Maritime University in China. I started tutoring international students since undergrad, and I helped them improve their Conversational Mandarin, and be more confident while expressing themselves in Mandarin. This experience enables me to think from the perspective of a non-Mandarin speaker, which inspires me to teach in a more intelligible way.

I am very easy-going, open-minded, caring, and extremely flexible. I love tailoring my teaching style and content according to students' unique needs. Learning how to speak Mandarin, or any foreign language, can be intimating, but we can make it a fun and rewarding experience!

Language is the key to a group of friends, a culture, a society, and a history of thousands of years. I can't wait to guide you in Mandarin learning and share my culture with you! In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, exploring local cafes and restaurants, hiking, cycling, and learning new languages (French, Japanese at the moment).
