I am a graduate of Texas A & M International University. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. I have 25 hours in math courses at the college level. I worked as a Resource Math Teacher for three years in a Public Middle School. After graduating from the University, I became a 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Special Education Math Teacher. I also worked as a Math Teacher at two Public Charter High Schools for a total of fifteen years. I taught freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior students at two Public Charter High Schools. The math courses that I taught at the Public Charter High Schools were Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Math Models and Pre-calculus. I was also the teacher of record for state exams such as Math TAKS and EOC in Algebra I.

Teaching is my passion. I have extensive experiences working with all kinds of students including special education and students considered at risk. I have been trained and applied math curriculum strategies to help students improve their math skills and succeed in state exams. Through the years of teaching at two Public Charter High Schools, I attended many trainings sessions for professional development through Region One Education Center, such as Differentiated instruction, Algebra I EOC success, CSCOPE curriculum, Math journaling for secondary teachers, and ELPS math academy. I strongly believe in being a facilitator to my students, my lessons are always student centered and not teacher centered.

I strongly believe that every student has the potential to learn and succeed . It is our responsibility as educators to ensure our student's success by preparing well, keeping up with the latest teaching strategies, and approaching every day with a positive attitude. Students must know that we believe in them and their capacity to learn. Students must learn in a safe and happy environment where they can have structure and discipline on a daily basis. I truly believe that failure is not an option. I strive to bring a positive attitude and high expectations to any and all of my undertakings. I always want to make a difference in the student's lives and educational attainment. My ultimate goal is to have each and every one of my students realize their maximum potential.
