I am a graduate of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. I received my Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Since graduation, I moved to Houston, TX where I began working for the Houston Independent School District in administration. I decided to obtain teacher certification by attending Houston Community College. I then began my teaching career in Houston teaching first graders, which I truly enjoyed for three marvelous years. During the summer months, I worked in a tutorial program for at-risk students tutoring high school students in algebra. After teaching in Houston for three years, I moved back to my home in Louisiana where I became a middle school math teacher for the remainder of my career before retiring in 2017. During this period I received a masters degree in education. I have deeply enjoyed my journey of working with students. I believe in going the extra mile to help all of my students achieve success. I did not mind getting to school at 6:00 am to not only prepare my classroom for the day, but to be available to tutor those students who were in need of extra help. I am a firm believer that education is a necessity in every child's life if he/she is to be successful. I tried to impart this into the minds of every child who crosses the threshold of my classroom each year. What I truly enjoy doing in my "me" time is cuddling up with a good book, cooking a favorite recipe, working out at the gym, or calling to check on acquaintances.

My number one interest is reading, especially reading from my list of favorite authors. Reading mysteries is my first love, my I also enjoy reading non-fiction, especially best-sellers. I also find an enjoyment in swapping recipes with others. Since I enjoy cooking, I take pride in collecting recipes. Working out at the gym is also a favorite for me.
