I was inspired by the words of one of my medical school's internal medicine professor. He used to say "We rise by lifting others".
I am an IMG and have completed 4 years of internal medicine residency in an ACGME-Internal IM residency program. My residency hospital was affiliated with Weill-Cornell Medicine Qatar (WCMQ) a sub-campus of Weill-Cornell Medicine USA. During my residency, I had the opportunity of formal and informal teaching of WCMQ students, and I was provided with a teaching appreciation letter based on the student's feedback for my best teaching methodology.
During my 4 years of IM residency, I read and got a stronghold of all IM subspecialties. I appeared in 4 in-Training IM (ITE-IM) exams conducted by the American College of Physician ( ACP) yearly for residents and was able to secure a score of above 90 percentile in each exam, The ITE-IM exams are conducted a higher at the knowledge level of residents and get harder as you progress in the residency. These are 8-9 hours exams and are conducted by NBME like all USMLE exams.
Currently, I am working as an IM resident at Sanford School of Medicine University Of South Dakota.
I feel my extensive medical residency, experience in ITE-IM exams and teaching experience from WCMQ would be very helpful in tutoring my students. Appearing in 4 In-Training -ACP Exams with a score of above 90 percentiles feels like appearing for Step-3 exams 4 times assist me to know the exam format in-depth, time management, and strategies to approach challenging questions that I can share with my students.
