Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Mass Communication with a minor of Spanish. Since graduation, I have been an English/Reading teacher for Teach For America in Miami, Florida. I teach 7th grade Language Arts and tutor at Omega Learning Center, students K-12 in reading, writing, and elementary school math. I am most passionate about teaching students how to reading/reading comprehension and monitoring their progress. I also enjoy working with English Language Learners, as my minor in college was in Spanish. I also have experience helping students prepare for their Critical Reading and Writing portions of the SAT exam. Education is the most important component one can have, as it is through education and hard work one achieves success.
