Certified Tutor

I am a graduate in Elementary Education with a Mathematics Endorsement from Indiana University. I received my Master's in Special Education: Mild Interventions in 2014.

I currently teach English online to English Language Learners. Prior to teaching virtually, I primarily taught students with special needs who were in preschool, kindergarten, and first grade. I am able to tutor all elementary subjects and middle school mathematics. I really like teaching reading because it is one of my favorite past times, and I enjoy instilling the excitement of reading in children, too!

No matter the subject, I love being able to support and encourage students as they grow academically and in their confidence.

With my years of experience teaching and tutoring, I have found that creating a safe environment where students can take risks is very important to student success. I foster a welcoming environment, capitalizing on student strengths, learning modalities, and interests. I tend to laugh, smile, and use humor a lot, because I find they make the learning experience fun and engaging for students. I am lucky to be in a profession I love and am passionate about!

I am a mother of three children, all in their teens. My favorite things to do are hanging out with them or attending their extracurricular events.
