I graduated with a Bachelors of Science from the Vanderbilt University School of Engineering, where I majored in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. While there, I was the director with the university Hackathon, an entirely student run event that aimed to empower students to learn and create a software project in 36 hours. My position directed our $80,000 to help students with no prior knowledge of computer science to create something amazing. I was lucky enough to get to personally mentor students, as well tutoring large groups in how to build a game of their own. Before the pandemic, I worked at Microsoft as a software engineer for two years. In such a large company, learning to quickly learn and teach others is important, and further strengthed my skills for teaching. I love to learn, and I think one of the best ways to learn is to teach -- you cannot teach without an intimate knowledge of the subject. I love to tutor math and computer science, topics I've studied and worked with for years to learn their ins and outs. I firmly believe in teaching students beyond "passing a test". I've always sought out a deep understanding of a topic, and love to do the same with my students.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking while listening to podcasts -- typically comedy podcasts like My Brother, My Brother and Me. On any sunny weekend, you can find me out putting in as many miles as I can before I get blisters. I also love to play and create video games. I have put countless hours into strategy games like Civilization. I once created a Virtual Reality pinball machine, where instead of looking at the board, you played from the perspective of the ball and used a motion sensing arm band to control the flippers.
