I am a recent graduate of Santa Clara University in California, where I received my B.S. in Biochemistry as well as a holistic education in environmental science, sociology, and public health (to name a few). I am currently in the process of applying to dental school (2020-2021 cycle), and look forward to converging my passion for mentorship, hands-on involvement with people, and community service into my future career of dentistry. In light of the long application process, I am taking a gap year to fuel my love for education and making an impact on my local community. My mentorship experiences include, but are not limited to: academic advising and DAT-prep for the SCU Pre-Dental Society; Lab and Teacher's Assistant for Biochemical Techniques, a lab-based capstone course for SCU Biochemistry students; teaching oral health prevention to underserved families via The Health Trust in Silicon Valley; and private tutoring in High School in the subjects of biology and trigonometry. My background in STEM has strengthened my knowledge in chemistry, biology, and math (trigonometry and calculus specifically).
As for my teaching style, I believe in sustainable improvement - which comes with commitment and organization - and I assess my success as a mentor by my students' ability to move forward with the material independently. I am very patient with my students, and strive to empower every individual regardless of their background, experience, and learning barriers to gain confidence in accomplishing their academic goals. I am committed to accommodating my students' needs as best as I can.
In my spare time I enjoy hiking, long road trips with my friends, and more recently have picked backed up my passion for painting. I currently live with my family in Georgia, and am flexible to tutor both remotely, and in person. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!

Undergraduate Degree: Santa Clara University - Bachelor of Science, Biochemistry
My academic interests include scientific research (on the subjects of botany and herbal medicine in High School, and biochemistry and organic chemistry in undergraduate school), public health, math (trigonometry and calculus specifically), and philosophy. My career interests follow the similar trend of public health sciences in oral health and education. As for my personal hobbies, I enjoy discovering new hiking destinations in the U.S., climbing mountains (I have summited Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Whitney so far), painting, and cooking with my family. Once it is safe for me to travel after COVID-19, I hope to backpack through Spain!
