My name is Simbarashe (Simba), I am a graduating Chemical Engineering student from McNeese State University. I have a wide range of process safety, laboratory and industrial chemistry skills due to my internships in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry.

I have an understanding of procedures and processes followed in a PSM environment. With Gastechno, I have developed skills in the development and design of modular Gas to Liquids plants. In particular I have learned to design Formaldehyde and Methanol reaction systems, and optimize these products to produce Polyoxymethylene Dimethyl Ethers, which are synthetic diesel fuels. My previous internship at Sasol exposed me to enhanced Oil Recovery surfactant design and application. I was also introduced to client specification product development. At McNeese State University, I have acquired skills in various process simulators such as HYSYS, AutoCAD Plant 3D and Aspen One. I also have a great understanding for different types of heat exchangers and how to monitor their performance.

Currently I am working towards my Bachelor's in Engineer and will proceed to Graduate School in the Fall, working as a Teaching Assistant at McNeese State University for the Engineering Department and doing a Thesis in Reactor Catalyst design. I bring enthusiasm and diligent work ethic. I take pleasure working in groups, especially those that involve senior members of a company who always seem to have a plethora of experience and knowledge on offer and are willing to impart their knowledge.

When I am not working I enjoy traveling, meeting new people and being active outdoors. I participate in community development mostly through the African and Caribbean Association and NSBE.

I am always looking for opportunities to enhance my career, and learn more.
