Certified Tutor

I have obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master's degree from The University of Michigan. I have also completed PhD coursework at The University of Maryland. My graduate work has focused on elementary mathematics education, however, I also have experience teaching college students and adults. I have over 20 years of experience teaching mathematics at various levels and in various settings. I am especially passionate about teaching remedial mathematics with individuals and small groups of students. In my opinion, every student has the ability to succeed in mathematics with the right approach. One of my most important objectives in teaching mathematics is to develop in my students an appreciation for mathematics, and to help them understand how mathematics can directly relate to and benefit their daily lives. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, connecting with friends, walking, cinema, playing Scrabble, singing, playing flute, catching up on current events, and being active in my faith community.
