Who am I? A wife, a daughter, a sister, a pharmacist. I'm a reader, a thinker, a doer, an observer, and a life-long learner. But above all, I am first and foremost a failure.

It wasn't until I recognized this that I began to truly savor the fruits of hard work as I sought to achieve goals in all areas of my life. This realization became especially important in my school and work life. Whenever I would come out of my comfort zone by overcoming obstacles and going further than most people and fail at something along the way, others around me would ask me to deeply consider if this is really "for me", as if I was going to consider quitting from one simple failure. I see things in a completely different light. To me, suffering from failure after failure, and learning from each failure is the key to success. In fact, I have recently come to realize that those who suffer from failure end up learning and refining their skills and coming back stronger than those who took on a smaller challenge and succeeded the first time.

As I've learned recently, emotional intelligence and self-awareness are two of the most essential elements of leadership. Learning and growing from each mistake or failure will continue to refine me as a person and as a professional. My personal mission is to have a vision and stick to the vision regardless of what difficult obstacles must be overcome to get there. I aim to lead a life of passion, where I constantly learn, grow, and refine myself as a wife, a mother, a friend, and a professional so that I can be the best I can possibly be to take care of my family and my patients.

This personal mission statement of mine is and will continue to be intertwined with my work and dedication toward teaching students so I can help them become readers, thinkers, doers, observers, and overall - the best version of themselves.
