Over the past decade, I have served as a teacher, research scientist, and fellow classmate in the areas science, community, and medicine. I worked as a secondary high school teacher in several school districts for almost five years where I worked with professional educators to improve how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses were taught. As a graduate student, I investigated the structure of viral protein structures that would lead to the development of antiviral therapies. And in medical school, I am learning how to apply all of my training to improve the health outcomes as a physician in the medical community. I am a nerd who loves science fiction, modern and classic literature, animation, and the great outdoors. But mostly, I am enthusiastic about helping others to learn.
