Certified Tutor
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Psychology and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, with a minor in Creative Writing, from Colby College in Waterville, ME. After graduating in 2015, I spent two years working on a number of research studies conducted with a psychiatric inpatient population before starting my PhD in Clinical Psychology at Fordham University in 2017. As part of my PhD at Fordham, I teach a number of undergraduate lab courses, including Foundations of Psychology and Research Methods. My teaching responsibilities include conducting lectures on psychological and statistical concepts, facilitating class activities and discussions, and providing feedback on and grading lab reports. I regularly meet one-on-one with my students, particularly to help them improve their lab report writing skills.
I genuinely love teaching and tutoring. I have found that using enthusiasm, positive validation, and an individualized teaching approach has helped my students succeed in their academic endeavors, while enjoying the process! Below are some student reviews of my teaching:
"She overall was very helpful. Her lab lectures were supplemented with her own research experiences and she was always helpful in clarifying questions or topics."
"I appreciated how Ana was always very positive and enthusiastic when presenting in her lab lectures. She was also very helpful and would answer any questions I had about the lab."
"Ana took time to meet with students individually and gave constructive feedback during every step of the lab report process. She was patient and explained things very clearly!"
In my spare time I enjoy listening to podcasts, reading, and trying out new vegetarian restaurants.
