Certified Tutor

I received my Masters Degree in Education from George Williams College of Aurora University, Williams Bay, WI. My undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale is in Radio/Television with the emphasis on journalism. I have tutored various school aged students for almost 10 years in different subjects. I volunteered in an ESL and GED program sponsored by a community college. I have also tutored home bound students, and test prepped for the ACT college entrance exam for English and reading. With my journalism background I enjoy tutoring writing. Reading and history run a close second and third place. I enjoy tutoring and helping students flourish. I believe in having the one-on-one or small group connection when students are trying to grasp that particular subject matter. It is such a key component when trying to learn. Currently I am a job coach for a school district's transition program where I assist young adults with special needs in seeking employment. The transition program provides internships for the students to build job skills, so they can have the opportunity to find employment after leaving the program. In my spare time I enjoy photography, reading, music, yoga , cooking and the outdoors.
