I am a responsible, outgoing, versatile, and friendly person with a business background. I have an MBA in Finance from Eastern Washington University and a BBA from Gonzaga University in Business Administration, concentrating in Finance and Economics. From my personal experience, students need constant engagement and motivation to learn. The learning process should be exciting and entertaining but not tedious and compulsory. Every student has unique attributes. Students appreciate any teacher who quickly understands their needs, breaks down complicated subject matter into simpler ones and goes the extra step to help them succeed. Recalling the learning process that helped me the most in my student life, I do my best to integrate my professors' various tactics to make the learning process enjoyable and engaging. So, I teach using the "Concrete to Abstract" teaching method. First, I introduce a familiar topic that is the best substitute for the next new concept I teach. Then, I associate the attributes of the familiar topic with the new concept. Students quickly understand and recall the newly introduced concept because of the familiar example. I also help students with other learning strategies, which help them work smart, not hard. I have successfully guided adult learners and students with various learning disabilities such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Test Anxiety, etc. and helped them achieve their goals! I tutored Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Micro and Macro Economics, Business Statistics, Business Math, Payroll, Taxation, and QuickBooks in Spokane Community College from July 2017 to August 2018. Then, I was promoted to an Adjunct Instructor, where I taught Economics, Accounting, and Business Math for about two years. I have proven experience simplifying complex concepts into simpler ones while teaching. I like to know every student's comfort zone since my examples vary from student to student due to their unique hobbies and interests. Students understand and remember the subject matter when associating it with familiar examples. I believe that there is no complicated subject for students. If there is anything complicated, it is the way we teach. So, to be an excellent teacher, it is crucial to understand the student's familiarity with the subject matter while explaining. Teaching is my passion. I feel proud when students vocalize their satisfaction with my teaching style. Therefore, it is essential to have a compelling desire and proficiency to assist students in their learning process effectively. So, I affirm that I have those necessary qualities to be an excellent teacher. I also teach outside curriculum materials such as Job Readiness, Resume Building, Cover Letter Writing, Competition Math, Stock Market, Investment, Retirement Planning, Starting and Building a Business, Investment Advising for Business and Individuals, Financial Planning, Business and Management Advising, and much more.
