Teaching is exhilarating. I never feel more energized than after a class that has gone well. As a middle school virtual teacher, I want my students to make connections. I believe in mixing up my teaching based on the material, rather than trying to fit the material into the same educational box. Teaching for me, then, hinges on the balance between teaching content and teaching skills. Students are at the center of my lesson planning process. My first goal is to create an atmosphere that encourages participation and involvement. I believe in a flexible manner of instruction, responsive to the unique atmosphere of a given class. In instructing either a large or small group, I am aware of student's different experiences and personalities in hopes of developing their strengths while enriching their weaknesses. Every student, regardless of back- ground, can improve his or her ability to listen to and understand.
Currently, I teach middle school virtually in many subjects. My education background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Secondary Education and a Master's of Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. I look forward to working with you in class soon!
