I am very happy with our experience so far with 51Թ. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

I'm 28 years old with a Bachelor's of the Arts in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor's of Science in Media Arts & Game Development. I hope to use my education to help others to understand mathematics and computer sciences on a deeper level.

My teaching style is to try to keep the atmosphere light and fun, interjecting my own sense of humor into a topic to help the student enjoy the learning experience.

My educational philosophy is that a student should understand 'why' they are doing something, not just 'how' to do it. Once they know the fundamental 'why questions' they can then more easily implement the 'how'. A student who has relied on route methodology in math will find it difficult to build up to the higher levels. Their lack of understanding the 'why' of the basics makes them unable to perform the 'how'.

A similar problem occur's in programming. The foundation of programming is logic. Once you know how to efficiently break a problem down into basic steps, you can begin to program anything. Then, all you have to learn is how to express those steps in a way the computer understands. While you might scrape by in beginning programming, without this foundation in logic, you'll never be able to program anything on your own and be restricted to mimicking other people's work.
