I have always loved the idea of mastery. I've always loved learning and practicing anything that it becomes second nature. It totally changes the way you think and keeps you more equipped to take on future challenges. I've used this mentality to do everything from raining 3's in ball to programming games to making robots. I've always loved how you can diversify and gain a better understanding of this universe with a simple mindset.

And so when I teach and tutor others, I love, ABSOLUTELY LOVE, showing them mastery. I love guiding them through their current obstacles. I love the feeling of enlightenment they subsume when they realized this new special phenomenon in the world. They feel happier because they realize they can actually do something they were struggling with. They realize it's okay to struggle with something; that it's only natural and necessary on the road to learning something. I distill the fear of learning out of them and make them more brave, not just in math or science, but anything else they take on in life. That's why I love teaching. It's not the simple concepts, but because I fundamentally change my students and make them better and more capable people by unlocking their own potential. I did this with my first 2 students. One was in summer school for failing math. But after about 6 months with me, he got into his advanced math class. The other student was on level and he too go into advanced.

It's like coaching. I really really like Gregg Poppovich and the Spurs. I like getting all you can out of a student and show them what they're truly capable of.
