I am very happy with our experience so far with 51Թ. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Certified Tutor

Education has allowed me to progress toward professional development in psychology. After graduating high school, I pursued my Associate of Arts at College of Lake County continuing on my Bachelor of Science in psychology at Loyola University Chicago. Throughout my undergraduate academic career I became an active member of Hillel, Phi Theta Kappa, and the American Psychological Association organizations. I currently hold a Master of Science in Applied Psychology and have two semesters of teaching experience at a graduate level. As a Teaching Assistant at Pacific University Oregon I assisted with statistics I & II leading review sessions and grading in the lecture courses and teaching the labs. I have extensive knowledge of research methods, statistics, and SPSS in behavioral science. I held review sessions before exams, preparing resources and working with the students one on one to help them succeed in their courses. Teaching the labs prompted me to break down fundamentals of SPSS from the abstractness and unfamiliarity of working with the software to a more comprehensible and interesting user friendly platform experience. I enjoyed helping students develop an apprehension of the practical application of running the ttests, ANOVAs, etc. The tutoring styles that I employed during lab were visual (graphs and pictures), verbal (written and speech explanations on powerpoints), logical (reasoning and formulaic mathematics), and group (students worked in groups for projects); students provided feedback throughout the courses and I modified my strategies and approach. My teaching philosophy is the fundamental in understanding any subject is simplicity. All work and no play makes one bored hence outside of academia I engage in volunteer opportunities around the community assist. My hobbies span from drawing, reading, listening to music, playing sports outdoors or exercising to playing card/board games and watching movies/tv shows with friends. A balance strengthens my work ethic and allows for creativity.
