I received my BA in Foreign Languages and Literatures (French) from Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA in 2009. From there I was accepted into the MA program in French Studies at Louisiana State University where I received my degree in 2012. Since then, I have been teaching French at LSU. I have experience with all levels of learners starting from first semester (where no previous knowledge is expected) all the way up to fourth semester when the most complicated grammar concepts are taught. I took a brief hiatus from LSU from 2015-2016 to teach English in Morocco. When I teach or tutor I try to use the target language (French)as much as possible but am willing to switch to English to explain complicated grammatical concepts. I love teaching French because it is a beautiful and structured language which is useful all around the world. I love sharing my experience with my students. When I'm not teaching or tending to my two sons (ages 1 and 4), I am the lead guitarist in a local band here in Baton Rouge. My biggest passion outside of French is music and I can talk about it for hours on end if you'll let me. I also love literature and wrote my thesis on the role of zombies in French-Caribbean literature. I am also a big European History buff (mostly 20th century). I look forward to continuing teaching as I find it an extremely rewarding experience.
