I received a Bachelor's degree in physics from Oberlin College in 2016. During my time at Oberlin, I performed fieldwork to help with a study of methane emissions in Spain, and I worked with the International Pulsar Timing Array in Holland and Australia to discover new pulsars and clouds of interstellar hydrogen. I also tutored individuals and groups in physics, math, and astronomy.
My favorite subject to tutor in is math. While math is often seen as intimidating, I like making it fun and engaging. I think it's important to see math as a skill that can be learned, like reading, rather than a talent you are born with or without.
My tutoring style is hands-on. I believe that working through examples is the best way to solidify the concepts one is learning, especially when it comes to physics and math. I like working through an example with a tutee, and then having them solve some problems on their own.
Outside of tutoring, I love playing piano, working on my photography skills, and playing rugby. I am independently studying architecture and hoping to get a master's in the field in the next few years.
