Certified Tutor
I've been teaching for the past 5.5 years in South Korea and America, and have been tutoring students that entire time. I've tutored and taught pre-k students all the way up to adults, and I love teaching all of them. My life motto is, "Knowledge not shared is not knowledge at all." I live by this motto by learning everything I can.
What most people don't understand is that our brains are muscles and are malleable. People will go around their whole lives saying, "I'm just not a math person" or "My brain just can't do science." I know this to not be true because when you put your mind to anything, you can accomplish it. Nothing will just fall into your lap. You must pursue it. I'm here to help you pursue knowledge so you can succeed in anything you try.
I come from a math family, but ended up teaching science. I've gone from crying because I couldn't get long division in 4th grade to taking calculus and trigonometry at a college while still in high school. Although I am a Chemistry teacher, we all know Chemistry is at least half math as my students continually remind me.
I'm a certified Chemistry teacher and have taught Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physical Science, and Computer Science for the past 2+ years. During the past two years I've attended multiple professional development seminars on tutoring ACT Science and CTE courses.
I can't wait to hear from you and start helping you understand and love those subjects that are giving you a little bit of trouble right now, but will soon be your forte'.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy is "Anyone can learn anything they put their mind to." Most people don't think about the brain as a muscle; but it is! Maybe not technically, but it works in the same way. The more you "exercise" it, the "stronger" it will be. There is no such thing as a "science person" or a "math person". To learn anything, you must work hard, and with a little bit of confidence and some stick-to-itiveness, you WILL succeed.
