Certified Tutor
I am a recent college graduate, with over three years of tutoring experience through my university. The majority of my tutoring experience is in a variety of collegiate biology, chemistry, and sociology. I played volleyball all throughout high school, and my tutoring style reflects my history with sports. After all, school and game day are both all about practice!
I currently work in human genomics while preparing for medical school, and I am certified by the College Reading and Learning Association as a Level 1 tutor. When I'm not studying for the MCAT, I am usually reading or running.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Difficulties are where a student can see the greatest gains in concept understanding, and therefore, most improve their grade. It is important to frame the student's perspective in a way which supports and encourages learning. I always try to emphasize effort and smart study skills over test scores, because effort is something a student can have complete control over. Once a student focuses on their own ability to work hard, content understanding usually follows.
