Certified Tutor

Having been a tutor and teacher for more than a decade for students from grade six through twelve, I have significant experience helping students achieve their goals and make academic progress. I have worked with students in several disciplines including history, psychology, philosophy, and sociology, but my primary areas of focus have been English literature and writing instruction. Beyond this, I have guided students in preparing for standardized tests as well as tackling the college application process from list creation to creating a compelling and engaging essay.

My educational background includes an undergraduate degree from Princeton University in English and a graduate degree from Tufts University in Secondary English Education. My post-graduate studies have included a Fulbright fellowship at the American Academy in Rome in archaeology, National Endowment for the Humanities seminars on the political philosophy of Hannah Arendt and Geoffrey Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, the British Institute of Florence art history summer session, the University of Cambridge International Shakespeare Summer School, and a certification program in special education from Northeastern University.

I truly love helping students have "a-ha" moments. Making the confusing clear and pushing students to deeper understanding drive my work with students.
