I am currently a senior at University of Missouri- St. Louis studying mathematics. In the past I have tutored for local volunteer organizations helping to prepare students for the ACT. I currently tutor ACT Math, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Arithmetic, Calculus 1, Elementary Math, Geometry, Middle School Math, Pre Algebra, Pre Calculus, SAT Math, and Trigonometry. I would say my favorite subject to tutor is Algebra. In comparison to other disciplines of Math, in my opinion, Algebra may be the most important. Algebra teaches us the fundamental ways in which an equations will work and this knowledge is essential to moving on to upper level disciplines. Without Algebra, you are not able to do calculus, you are not able to do geometry, and you are not able to understand the theory behind the workings of most Math. My tutoring style is to teach students how to teach themselves. What I mean by this, is that I try to help students understand their own learning styles. In doing so they are better able to identify where there issues are and how to address them. Outside of tutoring, on any given day you will either find me reading a book or biking somewhere in the city.
