Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Covenant College where I earned a B.A. in English & Music. Following graduation, I worked as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Republic of Georgia. Among other responsibilities while there, I tutored middle and high school students in English and writing as well as teachers in computer literacy and professional skills. After my service, I received an M.Mus. in Music Composition from Houghton College, where I tutored undergraduates in music theory and volunteered at a local high school where I tutored and mentored at-risk teens. I'm currently working on a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of the People, a global online education development initiative.

I enjoy tutoring across the spectrum of subjects, though I get most excited about Literature, Writing, and developing an individual's capacity to learn. I seek to personalize each student's educational experience, as I believe that learning happens best when a student is engaged and takes ownership of her/his learning. My hobbies include writing music, writing words, travel, long walks, acquiring degrees, and helping people.
