Certified Tutor

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston University. I received a Bachelor's of Arts with honors in biology concentrating in ecology and conservation biology. I plan to start studying for a Master's degree in ecology starting in the fall. While at Boston University, I worked for a wonderful organization that tutored underserved students in Boston in basic algebra. Since graduation, I have worked seasonally as a field biologist managing and surveying plants, entering data, and leading volunteer groups of all ages. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, yoga, reading, taking free online courses, and cooking.

I tutor a wide range of subjects, but specialize in biology, math, and test prep. If a student is struggling with a particular problem, I work to understand what concepts they are struggling with, whether it's the current lesson or a missed concept from a previous lesson. I also like to integrate general study and test-taking skills into my lessons, regardless of the subject. While I believe that it is important that a student is able to remember the details to solve a particular problem, I think it is vital that the student understand the broader concept surrounding the problem.
