Certified Tutor

I graduated from Middlebury College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a Creative Writing focus and a Studio Art minor. While at Middlebury, I was invited to join the peer writing tutor program at Middlebury's Center for Teaching, Learning, and Research. As a peer writing tutor, I helped students improve and revise their written assignments in all subjects, but worked more extensively with first-year students in writing-intensive courses. Currently, I work as a freelance writer and editor and have edited application essays for numerous graduate school applicants, several of whom were accepted to their top choice programs. I have also tutored undergraduate and graduate students who requested support throughout long-term written projects such as term papers and theses.

I enjoy tutoring any subject that involves writing, and I have found great satisfaction in helping students organize their thoughts and learn to express themselves clearly and confidently. Many people are nervous and uncertain when tackling a written project, and it is always gratifying when they overcome this block and discover how surprisingly eloquent and articulate they can become.

When I am not writing or reading, I like hiking through old-growth redwood groves and exploring the beautiful Northern California coast, as well as relaxing with my fianc and our two adorable rabbits.
