I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2010 with a B.A in Women and Gender Studies. In addition to my writing-intensive major, I took a well-rounded premedical course load with some of my favorite classes being physiology, anatomy, organic chemistry and microbiology. I have always loved teaching and editing papers. My experience includes helping my sister with her anatomy and other biology classes as well as tutoring a friend in chemistry and physics.
My style of tutoring is a very collaborative process with lots of time for the person I'm tutoring to ask clarifying questions . I really enjoy taking seemingly difficult topics and explaining them in a logical fashion while emphasizing the basics every step of the way. I find that students' frustration with a concept generally stems from uncertainty regarding how to organize many intersecting ideas. Nothing makes me more proud then watching a student master a formerly daunting topic.
When I'm not tutoring you can either find me salsa dancing at Atomic Cowboy, making pies, soups and fresh bread in my itsy-bitsy kitchen, or working at Pi on the Delmar Loop.
