Certified Tutor

I am a former Middle School Language Arts teacher with classes of Honors, General Education and English at Second Language levels. I hold an Arizona Teaching Certificate (K-8) with a Middle School endorsement and English as a Second Language Endorsement (K-12). In addition to my Education Certification course work, I have a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Currently, I am part of a "Race to the Top" technology initiative and am well versed in computer software programs and using technology in the classroom.

A life-long learner myself, I have found the best part of teaching is in tailoring lessons to maximize individual student success and that is exactly why tutoring is one of my favorite activities! The first step to maximize learning is obtaining and keeping a high level of student engagement and my lessons are created with the objective of keeping students focused on learning and teaching them skills that can be transfered to other subjects and real life.

My tutoring experience has included all levels from preparing a student for first grade to assisting a mature adult learner complete a college level English class.
