If a Seattle area law school, such as The University of Washington School of Law, is in your future, 51Թ can help you connect with preparation for the LSAT. With prep courses and private tutoring options, you can find Seattle LSAT preparation that is the right fit for you and your schedule. The Law School Admission Test, or LSAT, is the only test accepted by all Canadian common-law law schools and ABA-accredited law schools, such as the Seattle University School of Law. It is designed to assess the skills that you need to be successful in law school, so it is important to reach for your top potential.

The LSAT is made up of four sections that will challenge the knowledge you have acquired in your previous years in school. If you are a student considering additional assistance in your review for this exam, 51Թ can get you connected with comprehensive and thorough Seattle LSAT prep. Regardless of where you are in your LSAT review, or if you are unsure of where to begin, working with a prep course or private tutor can help you make the most of the time you have before the exam.

What might Seattle LSAT prep help me better understand?

The four sections of the LSAT include the three scored sections of Reading Comprehension, Analytical Reasoning, and Logical Reasoning. You will also take an unscored Writing section, which you will have one year to complete after the multiple-choice sections. The three scored sections will be presented with multiple-choice problems on tablets. The tablets offer features such as timers with five-minute warnings, and the ability to flag sections that you may want to come back to later. The LSAT Writing section is administered separately using a secure online testing platform.

You will have 35 minutes to complete the Reading Comprehension section. The questions presented in this portion of the exam will test your reading and understanding of complex passages, which will be similar to texts you will be faced with in law school. You may be asked to evaluate the meaning of words, phrases, organization or structure, determine the purpose or author's tone, or assess the information stated or inferred by the passages.

In the Analytical Reasoning section, you will also be allowed 35 minutes to complete the questions presented. This section will analyze your ability to understand and draw conclusions about a structure and its relationships. You will need to have a strong understanding of conditional statement reasoning and basic structure comprehension. You will also want to be skilled at inferring what could be true based on provided facts and rules and recognizing two statements with logically equivalent context.

The final scored section is Logical Reasoning. This portion of the exam includes two sections that you are allowed 70 minutes to complete. In these sections, you will be faced with problems that challenge you to analyze, evaluate, and complete arguments. These arguments may come from newspapers, educational publications, or advertisements. You will need to recognize the relationships and parts of an argument, the differences and similarities of reasoning, identify misunderstandings, draw conclusions that are well-supported, and identify argument flaws, explanations, and principles and rules.

The unscored Writing section is an evaluation of your argumentative writing skills. While this is not scored, copies of your essay will be sent to all the schools that you apply to and they will look for reasoning, clarity, organization, and writing mechanics that you used to present your argument. There will be no "right" or "wrong" position, but you will be asked to defend the position you take with well-thought-out supportive ideas.

How can I choose the right Seattle LSAT prep for me?

51Թ can get you connected with private LSAT tutoring, prep courses, or a combination of both. Each option offers its own unique benefits. Let's look deeper into each option so you have an idea as to which may be right for you.

In a Seattle LSAT prep course, you will attend courses in a fully interactive virtual classroom that works through a set curriculum. This course gives you a well-rounded review of each section of the exam. You have the option of choosing a two- or four-week session and, with new sessions that start weekly, you will be sure to find one to fit into your busy schedule. Prep courses are an excellent choice if you enjoy learning from other students and participating in group discussions.

The collaborative environment of a Seattle LSAT prep class gives you the opportunity to work on group activities that will help you to increase your knowledge of the skills you will need on the exam. You could pick up some new study ideas from your peers while gaining valuable insight into the LSAT from your expert instructor. If you run into a section that you would like some additional clarification on, you can request some time to go over it with your instructor.

Working with a Seattle LSAT tutor is a good option if you prefer a more personal approach to your learning. In a one-on-one setting, you can focus solely on your challenges and goals. Your instructor will have the ability to customize a study session with those needs in mind. You will have the chance to take the time you need to break down any sections of the exam that you find challenging. Maybe you need a more thorough review in Analytical Reasoning or you need some extra assistance in managing your time to answer the most questions within the time limits. Your private tutor can work through these areas with you, without spending unnecessary time on sections that you already feel confident in.
