This session we prepared for the student's upcoming Latin test by practicing translating sample sentences and parsing (identifying) the cases/ tenses of the words, and then by reviewing the conjugations and tenses using the whiteboard feature on the online platform. I am thoroughly impressed with how good at Latin the student is! We continued to go over the stories from the chapters he will be tested on, and I decided not to go over vocabulary, as I wanted to get through as many stories as possible and these stories are a great review of the vocabulary anyway. I think we got through 6 or 7 stories. I actually had to stop the student mid-translation to make sure he wasn't reading from a translation. He was translating Latin as if he were just reading a story in English aloud. I am absolutely impressed. Great job!

We had a solid session. We worked more with verbs still, because those noun endings are still a hurdle. We were able to take time to strategize ways to approach each section of the exam to play to his strengths. He is increasingly confident in his understanding of the different cases. While we did not look into the answers for the pronoun section, we did work through each sentence to identify which case would be needed. Next Friday, we will tackle the noun and pronoun sections, so the student should prioritize studying those over the course of the week.
