Whether you've just completed your graduate studies or you've been working in the medical field for years and are ready to take your career to the next level, you don't want to underestimate this test.
The MCAT is one of the most intensive graduate school admissions exams in the country. Nearly all medical schools within the United States require you include your MCAT scores as part of the application because they are considered by professionals in the industry to be an accurate measurement of the skills and concepts you will need to navigate medical school successfully. Whether you are hoping to attend the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville or another respected medical school, this test will help determine whether or not you are accepted. Continue reading to learn more about the MCAT and how 51Թ can help you with your Jacksonville MCAT prep.
What can Jacksonville MCAT prep cover?
The MCAT is comprised of four sections; Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems, Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills, Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems, and Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior. You will have a total of 6 hours and 15 minutes of testing time, but you will be in the testing environment for seven and a half hours.
While there are only four sections, you will receive five scores for the MCAT; one for each of the sections and a combined score. Possible scores for the individual sections range from between 118 and 132. The combined score range is between 472 and 528. Within any portion of the exam, you may receive experimental questions to help the designers of the test refine the process; however, these questions will not affect your score.
You will have 95 minutes to answer the 59 questions on the Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems portion of the MCAT. Subject areas that may need to be reviewed for this portion of the exam include organic chemistry, general chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physics, biology, and biochemistry.
You will have 90 minutes to answer 53 questions on the Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills section of the exam. You will not need to review specific subject areas for this portion of the exam as it relies on reading passages to supply the required information. However, there are many concepts you'll need to be familiar with to perform well.
You will have 95 minutes to answer the 59 questions on the Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems portion of the test. Your knowledge of general chemistry, introductory biology, organic chemistry, and basic biochemistry will be measured.
You will have 95 minutes to answer 59 questions on the Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior section of the MCAT. The questions are designed to determine how well prepared you are to serve a diverse population and how behavior impacts mental and physical health issues and a wide variety of other psychological and sociological concepts as they relate to the field of medicine.
The MCAT is a comprehensive and challenging test. Whether you need to review a few key concepts or you need a more thorough review, working with a professional instructor can give you an advantage on test day.
How can a Jacksonville MCAT prep class help me prepare? When you enroll in a class, you will notice you can choose between two and four-week options. The different lengths allow you to customize your learning pace. We want to support your learning style whether you like high-intensity in short bursts or you'd rather take your time as you prepare.
All MCAT classes are comprised of individual modules, and new modules begin weekly. Creating courses that give students the flexibility to start where they want and to move in an order that makes sense for them is another way we support you on your individual learning path.
While an MCAT class is designed to help you flourish no matter how you want to approach your preparation efforts, there are some very familiar components as well. For example, your class will be held in a digital classroom that functions much like a physical classroom. You will have a teacher who offers direct instruction to the class at regularly set times. A set schedule provides you with an invaluable structure that can help you work steadily towards your goals.
Another benefit of enrolling in an MCAT class is the peer interaction you will experience. You will be surrounded by other students with similar goals who can help support and motivate you to be your best. Peer interaction within the class can also help offer new insights into concepts that you might otherwise not have access to.
How is working with a Jacksonville MCAT tutor different from taking a course?
A private tutor can give you personalized instruction that is difficult for a classroom teacher. In a classroom, the instructor must provide a predetermined curriculum to ensure all of the students receive the information that will be on the exam. They must divide their time further by fostering group interactions and answering individual questions. While this works exceptionally well to give a comprehensive overview to more students at a reduced cost, it is not ideal for individualized instruction.
When you work directly with a tutor, the lessons you receive are designed around your learning style, academic needs, and MCAT goals. If you don't need to cover a particular skill or concept, it won't be part of your sessions. If you need additional time to feel comfortable with other skills, you can take more time to really target them.
Another benefit of personal tutoring is the flexibility you have when scheduling sessions. Instead of trying to mold your life to fit within the confines of a pre scheduled class, you can meet with your personal instructor at a wide variety of times. You can schedule sessions during the week or on weekends throughout the day and into the evening.
If you know you work better when you can engage directly with a teacher in a one-on-one setting, or you have a hectic schedule that won't allow you to attend group classes, personal MCAT tutoring is an excellent option.
How can I get started with the right Jacksonville MCAT prep solution for me?

Let's look at education to be a conversation. The teaching is to speaking and informing, while essays are the response to what you probably heard at the initial part of the conversation. Maybe we should change how to look at the classroom, it was meant to be an area that enables us to discuss everything we think about outside of it.
