I am a graduate of Rhodes University and the University of the West of England. During my undergraduate studies, I covered many elements of psychology and sport & exercise science. I then pursued psychology in greater depth which led me to an MA (research) psychology and a MSc sport & exercise psychology.

Over time, my particular areas of interest have been sport psychology as outlined above, but also developmental psychology, research, psychological skills, motivation and personality. In saying this, I am comfortable covering most areas of psychology and sport & exercise science.

I find teaching motivation and arousal particularly interesting due to the wide range of practical activities and examples that can be used to make the desired point. In addition exploring and using psychometrics also offer an alternative angle from which we can view and understand psychology.

My teaching style is one which aims to collaborate with and empower students whilst giving them a broad perspective and understanding of what they are learning.
