I am passionate about teaching. The classroom is a space for me to grow along with my students. I bring to
the classroom a myriad of personal experiences and academic successes that I hope to share with my
students.
My principal purpose of teaching is to boost CREATIVE and CRITICAL THINKING.

I'm a Master of Fine Arts from the University of South Florida (USF). I also hold a teacher's Certificate in K12 (subjects: Art and Spanish)
I've taught Video Art and Video Editing as Adjunct Professor at USF for 6 semesters. I taught Drawing, Digital Art, Creative Photography, and advanced levels for each of the previous subjects at the Hillsborough County Public Schools. I'm proficient with several Adobe CC software like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere.

I was born in Cuba and Spanish is my native language. I want to impart artistic skills to students and make them aware of social, cultural, political, and economic factors that influenced art in different historical periods. I also want to help my students to navigate through the wonderful experience that is learning Spanish, Portuguese, and aspects of Latin-American cultures.

Hobbies

Must of my hobbies are related to sports, nature and music. I like to practice sports like tennis, racquetball, kayaking, biking, soccer, running and chess. I'm very into nature, especially hiking and camping. I'm also a passionate about drums, jazz and Brazilian music. I'm currently studying and developing a project for a PhD on Design and Sustainability.
