Hullo there!

I am a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University, where I received a B.A. in History (after moonlighting as a literature major) and a B.M. in Vocal Performance. Following graduation, I went on to earn my M.A. at Eastern Illinois University in European History and American Intellectual History. Now, I am progressing toward a Ph.D. at the University of Illinois at Chicago where I study British History, World History, Science and Technology Studies, and the Philosophy and Teaching of History.

As you can probably tell, school is one of my true loves. I enjoy working with students who feel similarly, but I also recognize that for some students, school can be incredibly frustratingand that's OK. I'm here to help you work through those frustrations using a wide array of teaching techniques, a great deal of enthusiasm, humor, and encouragement, and various lesson plans that will help you to access your strengths and develop your skillsets. I firmly believe that all students are creative individuals and intellectuals-in-training, and I promise to take your concerns seriously and help you work through anxieties so that you can be your best student self.

My favorite topic to tutor is History, but I also love to help students with ACT preparation and college admissions essays. I recognize that applying to college can be very stressful, and as a future professor, I think it is important that I help walk students through that process, sharing advice and critique and making sure that everyone has the chance to represent themselves well when those dream schools are on the line (IWU was mine!).

In my free time, I am a creative writer, a singer, an amateur artist, and an aspiring vegetarian chef. I love reading anything that broadens my perspective on the worldacademically or otherwiseand I geek out to all things Sherlock and sci-fi. I also love nature, photography, and traveling.
