Certified Tutor

Helping and encouraging students to do their best is what I'm here for. I enjoy helping students to the best of my ability and so they would be able to understand the material being taught. I'm very passionate about helping students because I get to see the up close experience of each and every student improving and trying their best to do better, and knowing that I helped them along the way is a wonderful achievement. I began tutoring at the age of ten to Grade 1 students for a year with Reading and overall English skills, including Grammar and Pronunciation. After that year, I continued helping fellow classmates and other students throughout middle school and high school whenever I could. In Grade 11, I joined a club for Peer Tutoring, however it discontinued predominantly due to the pandemic, for 3 months with helping a Grade 10 student with Calculus, Trigonometry, and Highschool Grade 10 Science. Now I am completing my first year at University of Toronto Scarborough in the Life Sciences Program, double majoring in Human Biology and Psychology, working towards an Honours Bachelor of Science degree. I tutor subjects from Trigonometry, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, High School Biology, High School Chemistry, and Science. My favourite subjects to tutor are Trigonometry, Calculus, Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Pre-Algebra, and High School Chemistry because I really enjoy doing and expanding my knowledge in regards to courses that focus on mathematics. My teaching philosophy is to make each of my tutoring sessions interactive, communicative, fun, and a healthy community for each and every individual present to help them ensure that they understand the material they don't comprehend entirely and reinforce any information they don't feel confident with by providing more practice. Aside from academia, I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family, participating in clubs and events, specifically at University, nature photography, and playing mobile and video games.

Hobbies

I enjoy playing many sports, so some of my hobbies, in terms of sports, include Badminton, Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, Soccer, Flag Football, and Floor Hockey. Furthermore, in terms of interests, I really like human anatomy, travelling, and nature photography. In addition, I enjoy digital creative projects, specifically making websites as well. Over the summer, I also have been working at a club for the non-profit organization as a Web Master where I have created a website. The aim of the non-profit organization is to help raise awareness of issues like homelessness, mental health, and more to our local community, which intrigued me to make a larger impact to my local community.
