Certified Tutor
I graduated from cum laude Cornell University with a major in Biological Sciences and Nutritional Sciences and a minor in Cognitive Sciences. Currently, I am completing graduate school at University of Medicine and Dentistry (UMDNJ) Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences for an MS degree. I will be starting medical school in 2013, as part of UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School Class of 2017!
Having an extensive academic background in biological sciences, I believe I can be your best tutor in subjects such as anatomy, biology and microbiology. Having taken the MCAT, I can help you obtain your best score possible! I have gone through many MCAT materials and would love to share what have worked for me, what hasn't, the pros and the cons and help you figure out techniques and methods to effectively study. Through many years of studying and much much more studying for medical school, I have acquired various study skills that I would love to share with you.
I have also tutored SAT in all 3 subjects (Verbal, Writing and Math) for 4 years both one on one and in a small classroom setting. During this time, I also tutored elementary and middle school students in various subjects. I also work extremely well with children as I was head assistant at an aftercare program, helping out with homework, various activities and serving as a mentor for grades 1 to 6. I also have experience working with children with disabilities as I have volunteered as a buddy for numerous programs for children with disabilities since I was in high school. Here, I have developed patience and have learned how to give specialized attention.
I am excited to not only be an excellent tutor but a positive mentor and role model. I like to engage the student and make sure that the student actually understands the material because this is how information stays with us. I believe that hard work pays off. You don't have to be the most gifted or smartest student in the room, but if you put in the time and effort, you can reach your fullest potential. I want to make studying as fun as it can possibly be (and it is fun when you are actually understanding what you're learning!) "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act, but a habit."

During my free time, I love to bake and cook. But if you're going to eat as many sweets as me, you better work it off! Luckily, I love a good work out and dancing as well. I've done hiphop since high school and throughout college. Recently, I have picked up latin dancing and am currently learning styles such as merengue, bachata, Argentinean tango and salsa to name a few. As a nutrition major, I also enjoy staying healthy, doing yoga and zumba which I am now obsessed with! Other times, I like doing arts and crafts from DIY projects to painting.
